New parts created for a lower Radiator section P40-F Warhawk. The name Warhawk refers to the P40 or P40-F model that served in WWII.
Known in Australia and New Zealand as the P40-Kitty Hawk. The aircraft is a far cry from being a "kitty".
Parts and components for the P40 and P40-F Warhawk / Kitty hawks are very few between. Restorations of these incredible Warbirds or Barnstormers are made possible thanks to the skilled hands of old world coach builders, 3D CAD modelling experts and Tool and Die makers such as Paul Howman and Micheal Subritzky in Australia.
This Piece started out life as a flat sheet of brass. Drawn down and shaped by mainly by hand, Press and Hammer, it reflects hours of skilled craftsmanship at the highest form. More images of this amazing piece in the gallery soon. As I said this was one piece of brass sheet, no welded sections, no repairs just manipulated by pure skill.
The piece will live on a New Warhawk Resoration we have been very privileged to be apart of over the last three years. The project under restoration lives with Judy Pay at Tyabb, Australia and is affectionalty known as "Bone Crusher" A Warhawk P40-F. Many replacement panels have been made for the P40-F and will be displayed in the gallery.
